I've made a lot of cream flowers and I've began to stitch the rows together. I've only got two so far. If you like to know how are the other "gardeners doing, pay a visit to Pigtales & Quilts too see more lovely flowers and growing gardens.

Dear, I shrunk the blocks!!!
As you probably know I joined FWQA a couple of weeks ago.
I bought the book and immediately started making the blocks using the templates from the CD. It was boring and rather expensive as each template came in a separate sheet of paper. After visiting some blogs I found a link generously shared by LizQuilts on Flickr. All the templates are condensed in only 15 pages and of course i printed them at once.
The next day I cut some templates and made block #14- "Butterfly at the crossroads". Everything went smoothly but then...I realized that this block was bigger than all the others. OH MY GOD!!! WHAT HAPPENED???
I searched on the Flickr group and quickly discovered that I printed the templates from the CD at the wrong scale. My blocks were 1/2" shorter. Now what?
Well I have to start from scratch. And the small blocks?
When life gives you lemons....you make lemonade. I turned 16 blocks into a table runner for my new cupboard. I love it!
After all I didn't waste any fabric ( I had a lot of fun doing the blocks, anyway) and I got a new table runner. Now, back to work to see if i can catch up on FWQA.
If you still didn't have the chance to enter my blogiversary giveaway, don't worry just go HERE, you have until September 2nd.

Aunt Sarah's Quilt and One Flower Wednesday
Since Sunny from Quilting Dreams showed the photos of this quilt it didn't come out of my mind. So I decided to search on the Net and ordered the magazine. The quilt is amazing, now I have to make little adjustments for my hexies are 1" and the ones from the magazine are 3/4". But will pull it through.
Here are my last week flowers, I began doing the cream ones.

First Year blogiversary and a Giveaway
Today I'm celebrating 1 year of blogging and I still can't believe it.
It seems like was only yesterday that I was asking for my daughter's help to start this blog.
It has been an incredible journey. I never thought I would enjoy it that much.
Since then i came a long way. I "met" lots of interesting people, learned a lot about quilting sewing and blogging.
I think I can even say that I've made some friends all over blogland.
I'm thankful for everyone that rakes time to read and comment.
To celebrate my first year I had to have a Giveaway. So this is what I'm giving to one of my blogging friends:
* 2 Marcus Brothers Fat Quarters
*1 pincushion
* a card or coupon wallet
* A quilt pattern from Clares place
So, What do you have to do to win???? EASY
for 1 entry - just leave me a comment
for an extra entry - become a follower of my blog or let me know if you already are one.
The giveaway will be open until September 2nd. I will post the winner on Saturday the 3rd. International entries are welcome.
Sorry about the bad quality photo but I still haven't got my camera and my cell phone camera isn't very good.

FWQA- New blocks
I recently joined Angela and Amanda in this great quilt along. I started a little later but I'm catching on.
I have made nine blocks so far and I intend to do a couple more this week end. Here they are:

I'm loving doing these blocks, they are easy to make if you follow the instructions and cut the templates correctly, which doesn't happen with other books I've bought.

One (many) Flower Wednesday
Every week Karen at Journey of a Quilter gives us the chance to share the hexie flowers we've made. Make a little visit at Karen's One Flower Wednesday, take a look at the flowers and share the ones you've made with us.
Thank you Karen!!!
Last week I enjoyed a little vacations on the south of Portugal and, of course, my hexies went too. These are the flowers I made during the hot Summer nights.
Thank you Karen!!!

Santa Sack Swap
A minha primeira encomenda chegou sem problemas e é LINDA!!! A Manuela mandou-me um saco de Natal lindíssimo, adorei os tecidos. Os presentes...Não, não os abri mas vontade não faltou.
My first package of Santa Sack Swap arrived safely. Manuela made me the most beautiful Christmas sack. I loved the fabrics. I didn't open the presents tough I wanted very much to but, I know it will be even greater to open them next December.

Estou de volta! - I'm Back from vacations!!!
I'm back from a little vacation in the algarve, in the south of Portugal. It was only a week but it was enough to rest and get ready for another year of hard work. I love swimming in the clear and warm water of the pool.I just love to swim ( I think I must have been a fish in other life). In the mean time I celebrated my birthday on July 27th, I'm 46 years old now. The next day was my 21st anniversary, I have the most wonderful husband and we've been very happy and blessed with two great "kids". It was only a week but as you see it was a full one.
Me, swimming in the pool
On the roller coaster at AQUA SHOW
My DD and DS
My DH and DD
My son, reading ( which is almost a miracle).
Mas não pensem que fiquei só sem fazer nada. A minha caixinha de hexágonos foi comigo e fiz umas quantas flores.
Don't you think I forgot my sewing. Oh no, my sewing box followed me and I did a couple of hexies . My garden is really growing!
OHPS!!! I forgot this one..

My FNSI Report
Last night was a very productive one. I manage to sew together the last three rows of my newest quilt top....The last isn't quite right there's one missing but I ran out of the solid fabric. Luckily I've already ordered some more. Nevertheless I'm happy with the result.
I used part of two Luna Notte charm packs and an Antique fair layer cake. I still had to use a couple of 10" squares from Buttercup but it blended quite well...I think.
These are the three rows I did last night

It's FNSI day!!!
It's time for another FNSI. Thanks to Heidi and Bobbi We can enjoy a night of sewing "together" all over blogland. I just love it.
Tonight I'll try to finish the rows of the quilt I started last week. We'll see if there's time for anything else. See you all tomorrow.

I tried really hard but...
I tried to resist but I finally gave it up. Seeing all those quilters all over blogland showing their FWSQ
blocks everyday was to much to me. I gave it up and ordered myself the FWSQ book.
blocks everyday was to much to me. I gave it up and ordered myself the FWSQ book.
It arrived today and it's all MINE. I'm loving it ! I had bought some civil war FQs I recently and I immediately tried to make a block so...I made block #1.
The image is a little crocked but I didn't iron the block yet. Now I have to wait for some more Civil War FQs I bought from Ebay and then I can do more of these lovely blocks. Meanwhile I'm reading the letters from the book.
