I have to change my QUILT'S NAME

As you know I'm designing a quilt. I wanted to call it Penelope's Garden for I always loved the name Penelope but when my daughter was born nobody let me name her Penelope.
Yesterday I received a post from a blogger warning me that there was already a quilt with that name. OK!
I don't want to copy anyone's work nor was my intention to do it, so there is only one thing to do:
I will change my quilt's name into Penelope's Paradise. I hope nobody as thought of that.

So, without any further ado I present to you " Penelope's Paradise", ( only half of it, really)!

WIP Wednesday

Another week, more projects to share. This week was quite productive for a mother of two that works out most of the day.
I try to sew a little bit every night but sometimes it's just not possible.

Completed  my birdie Stitches top ( at last), I still have to sandwich it and do the quilting

forgive me the blurry picture

I've completed another Rose Star. This time I made it bigger and it was so much easier and fast

New project: I saw a wonderful quilt at Quiltscapes. It's a free pattern from the lovely Deonn. It's called " Bloomin' blossoms - Spring Posies", you can choose between the 64"x 64" Lap quilt or the table topper. They are both wonderful. I've made a block so far

On going projects:
I'm doing my " Penelope's Garden", hopefully i'll finish it during next week ( I'm going to have a little vacation).

Granny Squares

That's it. My week's work. today I'm linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced and see what everyone's doing.

Design Wall Monday - Penelope's Garden

Penelope's Garden is growing slowly. It's a project that I'm designing as I'm doing it, so it's going to take a bit longer.

This is the right half of the quilt. My dresden are ready to be sewn.

Along with this project , I'm  also making my Granny Squares. I've made eight blocks so far

Today I'm linking up with Judy at Patchwork Times, join us and share your projects with us.

FNSI- dresden and granny squares

Another great sewing night. I finished my dresden plates for my "Penelope's Garden" quilt, I didn't sew the centers for I still don't know wether to hand stitch them or you use a blanket stitch from my sewing machine.

Afterwards I didn't resist and made two more granny squares
( didn't I mention before they were quite addictive!!!)

I like the pink and blue but

This one is my favorite, love the bright colors and the flower fabric.

WIP Wednesday

Not many projects going on this week. I've been too busy , being a working mother and a freelance quilter isn't easy.

I've managed to finish another granny square. I love making them, it's a wonderful scrappy project. Fun to do and quick, too.

I've also entered a new swap. It's called "Friends with Beneficts" and it's hosted by Kathy at  Sew Happy House.

This is a little pick of the project I'm doing. I can't show you more or I would spoil the surprise.
For more projects just link up with Lee at Freshly Pieced.

A Finish and I think I have a fever...

No, I'm not sick, just a little hay fever but that's not the kind of fever I mean. It's the granny squares fever.
All over blogland I've seen beautiful blocks and quilts using granny squares. Why not try one myself. Today I did it
I cut the squares from some leftover fabrics ( It's a good scrappy project)
I used set in triangles instead of squares that had to bet cut afterwards, I save fabric this way.

And here it is, my first granny square, I sense more coming this way ( The Fever!!!).
If you want to join the fun, just go HERE.

I also finished the biding on the "Hexie" table runner. Instead of hand sewing I used a decorative stich and sewed everything by machine. It's faster but nevertheless beautiful.

Here's a close up of the stitching, I don't know if it's very clear

" Pax-de-Deux " quilt top is done!!!

Last Friday I received the fabrics to finish my Rouenneries Deux quilt. I sew the border on today and I love it. Then I decided to give it a real name, not the line of fabric's. After a little thinking I came up with this...
" Pax de Deux ", it's french and it's a duet. In this case it's just me and a gorgeous line of fabric!
I thought adding two borders but at the last minute I went for a larger single border

Forgive me the pictures but I had to lay it on the floor.

WIP Wednesday

I've got quite a few projects in hand, a mini quilt , a table runner and two quilts. I've just finished a mini quilt for a swap but I can't show it yet.

Projects on the run:

" Going Hexie" mini quilt, its pieced and hand quilted, I've to do the bidding.

My table runner top  is finished. The pattern from Annie Downs book " Some kind of Wonderful". It still needs a lot of work...

I've sewn all my Rouenneries Deux blocks together but I'm waiting for the fabrics I ordered to do the borders...another project in stand by.

Finally I've made all the blocks for my Spring Quilt but I'm still uncertain about the design, here are some possibilities

If you have a project you'd like to share with us just kink up with Lee at Freshly Pieced. Come  and join the fun!
