On My Table

My Kim Diehl's runner is finished. I hand sew the biding last night and rushed to my dining room table. I made it specially for that table and I think it looks great.

Sunday sewing

It's more like week-end sewing really. I had a little time this week-end and got all my swap blocks done and ready to go.
I have been very busy lately. Health issues regarding my husband and now my son needs  to have a surgery procedure to remove a pilonidal cyst. It's not a complicated surgery but the recovering is long and painful.
In spite of that I decided to finish all my swap items in order to fulfill my obligations in time.

Eight pointed stars for Margaret

Churn Dash and Buttercup for Sue B.

New apron

Today I made a new apron. I'm in a kind of kitchenware renewal mood.
The pattern is "Cherry Picked" by Stephanie Marrot and it's was fabric panel that my friend Celia gave me when we met last Summer.
The apron turned out fine but I can't say the same about the model. Look at the dark circles around my eyes...awful.
Have a nice week,
Hugs,

Teresa

New pot holders in my kitchen

Last week my daughter was helping me in the kitchen when she noticed the very poor condition of my pot holders. They were old, the fabrics were faded and some had little burnt marks.
My daughter said to me : - Mom, you are always sewing so lovely things to give away to our friends but you haven't made some new pot holders for our kitchen yet!
She couldn't be more right! So I went to my sewing corner and looked for the orphan and rejected blocks box. I have a box where I keep blocks that I make to try new techniques and some that aren't the right size. This is what I made with them...
    Two leaf shaped pot holders

And two more, using some undersized 6 inch blocks

My kitchen looks better now!
