At last....I had the courage

This last summer my friend Celia, who lives in Australia, came to Portugal to visit her mother and some of the family that lives here.
We managed to get together for only a couple of hours and we exchanged some gifts ( she brought me lots of wonderful things).
One of those gifts was a flying geese ruler, The Eleanor Burns quilt in a Day ruler.

To be honest, the ruler has been kept in a drawer since then because the first time I read the instructions I felt so confused that I thought I would never be able to make flying geese using it.
Last  week-end I thought to myself...Are you going to be defeated by a ruler? NO WAY, I opened the drawer, got the ruler out, read the instructions again and cut some squares. White squares for the background and some charm packs squares from "Make life" by sweetwater for Moda fabrics.

Oh my! that was quick. In a whisker I had made 16 flying geese and as my sewing machine needed a cover I chose some grey fabric and started to make one.

It's almost ready, just needs some binding. Thank you Celia for a wonderful ruler!

I love your sewing machine cover, Teresa! I have a couple of rulers that I'm scared of, too. You inspire me to conquer my fear. :) xo

Beautiful flying geese--
some time all we have to 'fear' is fear itself--now I need to remember that as I know that I have at least 3--if not more new style rulers that I got in the last year or two to do something new with????
hugs, di and miss gracie

I have the same ruler in my drawer! You are encouraging me to get it out and learn to use it! Your flying geese look great.
