This summer I entered the most fantastic swap hosted by Cheryll . My partner sent me lots of goodies but

Birdie Stitches BOM is completed!!! YEAH. Now I have to join all the blocks and decide what color my sashing will be. do you have any ideas. If you do please let me know, I'm always so scared when I have to choose a fabric, I think I may do the wrong choice and spoil all the work.

My first Mini Log Cabin and Birdie Stitches #12
My friend Celia from Quilting by Celia sent me the foundation template to make the cutest mini Log Cabin. Log Cabin is one of my favorite blocks and this template makes the perfect block. The blocks are 4"" finished and we can use even the smallest scraps. I've made only one but I'm in for some more.
THANK YOU Celia!!!
My last block from Birdie Stitches BOM from Little Miss Shabby is almost finished. I've made all the applique and now I'm going to stitch the little birds. I can't wait to see all the blocks together.

Santa Sack Swap- It's time to open my presents!!!
A couple of months ago I entered a swap hosted by the lovely Cheryll at Gonne Stitchin. Yesterday was the day to open our presents and..my sack was full
I received those presents from a portuguese friend, Manuela Branco, that I had the pleasure to meet last October
See, they are so many, I can't wait to open them but...
I'm going to twist the rules a little bit ( I hope you don't mind Cheryll). Instead of opening all of them at once I decided to open only two today
I randomly chose these.... and
Look what I received
A pair of gloves without fingers , they are perfect to sew on the cold winter nights, they are soo soft and so beautiful. I'm a lucky girl
Manuela also sent me this lovely pincushion ( I collect pincushions).
I'm so happy right now. The other presents are tucked away until christmas Eve. I will only open the rest on the 24th. Forgive me, I promise I will post about it then. Thank you very much Manuela for such great presents and thank you Cheryll for hosting this fabulous swap and for inviting me in.

My FNSI
Since I ordered and received Annie Downs book " Some Kind of Wonderful", I've been busy trying to make all projects.
Then I began another of her projects, it's a beautiful applique table runner
It uses a lot of small pieces which are stitched in three different types of blocks
I love to work with small pieces, it's like doing a puzzle. Before I called it an end and went to bed I made six blocks, three of each
I'm very happy with my FNSI!!!

I'm back to One Flower Wednesdays
Since I almost finished my Aunt Sarah's Quilt I had never sewn hexies again. And you know...I missed it.
Therefor I made some more. This are not the inchie ones they're a bit smaller - 3/4" I guess. I've completed two and the third still needs sewing the pieces together.
If you like to take a look at more beautiful hexies don't forget to join Karen at The Journey of a Quilter, you'll see many great project using hexagons.

Surprise Pay it forward
SURPRISE PAY IT FORWARD
I have spotted this great idea on Tanya's blog Wee Little Birds for a surprise pay it forward. This is how it works.
I will send a surprise gift to the first three people to comment on this post. This gift will be made by me and I will send it sometime within the next year. Exactly when you will receive it will be a surprise (it will probably be a surprise to me too :-D).
Of course there are some rules in this game. Here it goes:
Rules:1. I will make a little something for the first 3 people that comment on this post. It will be a surprise and may arrive at any time in the next 365 days (yes, a year).
2. To sign up to receive a gift from me you must play along too. Share the giving love on your blog by promising to send a handmade goodie to the first three people that comment on your blog post.
3. You must have a blog.
4. After commenting on my post, you have to post this (or similar) on your blog to spread the love. If you haven't posted in 48 hours then the next commentor will be chosen.
I don't know if three people will even get around to commenting on this, but I will say that if you find this post 6 months from now and only 2 people have left a comment, you can still be commenter #3 and get a random goodie from me! When you comment, I'll email you and get your address and then you will get something from me sometime before next December 2012.
What do you think of this idea. I've never done it before but I sure would love to try it. come on and join the fun.
Hugs,
TERESA

One minute ( about two hours) runner
Yesterday I decorated my house for xmas, I made a center piece for my dinning-room table but I wasn't too happy with the runner. It didn't satisfied me. So... this afternoon, right after lunch I sneaked into my sewing room and made this
For the backing I used some Xmas flannel I had for quite a while and din't know where to use it ( Thank god I didn't use it before because it was perfect for my project).
I'm very pleased with the final result and my table looks a lot nicer now. I'm HAPPY!!!
