Farmer's wife blocks update

I've sent my Fw blocks to my friend Celia and I've received hers, so now I can show you the one I made and the ones I've received.

These are the blocks I've made

I love the colors she chose, the blocks blend perfectly with mine and I think the quilts are going to look very nice. The idea of swapping blocks was really fantastic. Both of us will have a quilt with a lot more fabrics, and all very beautiful.

As always, Celia sent me some goodies. She is most generous ( She's Portuguese!!! )

A beautiful card, some patterns, two Australian themed panels  , a pincushion and two ceramic buttons.

I love the buttons and the pincushion will be added to my collection as soon as I stuff it.

One Flower Wednesdays- Almost finished

My Aunt Sarah, or Should I say Aunt Teresa's quilt is almost finished. I've just basted the outer border and now I have to sew it. I don't know if I should sew it by hand or use the sewing machine. What do you think?

If you want to see more great flowers just join Karen at Journey of a Quilter, you won't regret it.

My Friday night Sew in

Today I decided to make bow tie blocks for a table runner. It's a very easy block which I've seen in a Missouri Quilt company video that a friend of mine - Celia at Quilting by Celia - generously indicated me.
Preparations

Some of the first bow tie blocks

Almost done

Only a few to go
It was getting late but I still wanted to see how they looked all together

That was it! Tomorrow I'll sew them and see if I can get it finished. Now off to bed!!!

Tuesday Treasures

Today I'm linking with the lovely Melody at The House on the Side if the Hill and I'm sharing with all of you another one of my treasures. I love Matrioska dolls and I try to buy one every year at the annual international crafts fair. These are the ones I got so far.

All of them carry five to eight dolls inside but I'm showing only one

My first Swoon block

I've seen lots of wonderful Swoon quilts and blocks in my visits to other quilting blogs, I was tempted to make one. Swoon is a pattern by Camille Roskeley and it's really a great pattern. To make the story short...I ordered the pattern and early this morning I cut all the pieces, in the afternoon I sneaked to my sewing room and made my first swoon block. I''m so happy with it. Forgive my modesty but I love it!!!

Tuesday Treasures

I'm back with some more of my little treasures.

The wooden and tin tray was made by my mother and she offered it to me a couple of years ago. The horse nut cracker was a gift to my husband ( he loves horses).

These two little chairs were handmade by one of my student's grandfather. They are tiny but wonderful!

If you'd like to see or share some more treasures be sure to visit the lovely Melody at The House on the Side of the Hill.
