Can you believe this?

Last night I was going through my UFO's cupboard when I found a quilt that I didn't remember I had made. Can you believe it?
This is my " Lollypop Quilt ", I made it for my daughter, she chose the pattern and the fabrics and I'm pretty sure that this is the only quilt I've made that I've followed the pattern and made no alterations.

It's a pieced and appliqué quilt, it took my ages to sew around all those circles but I love the quilt. The fabrics are bright and cheerful. I think I'm gonna hang it again on my DD's bedroom.

Of course, Blackie had to stan on the quilt while I was taking the photos, he's a real quilt inspector!

Owlie and Owlette

These are my new scented friends. Well not mine really, I've made them to to give to a friend of mine who loves owls. They are stuffed with lavender and smell so good.

I think I'll make some more to put in my drawers too.

Piecework Sampler Progress

This week's progress on my sampler.
I cut the border strips and match them with the blocks

Then some chain piecing was in order

Sewed a couple ob blocks, pressed them and... more chain piecing of course

Here are some of the blocks already squared up.
I will try to finish all of them this afternoon.

First week blocks are done!

I decided to join a QA hosted by Cheri at Quiltsbycheri. Its a pieced sampler using reproduction s fabrics, one of my favorites. Since my economic situation deteriorated "scrappy" has become my middle name and this kind of work fit into my needs perfectly. This way I can make things I love using the fabrics I already have. Great isn't it?
She posted one set of blocks each day of the week along with the instructions, next week she will post the last blocks and the finishing information too. Here are mine

MONDAY: Four Patch

TUESDAY : Nine Patch

WEDNESDAY: Square in a Square

TUESDAY : Hour Glass

FRIDAY : Puss in the Corner

Now I'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out what's next.

If one can't sew...

As you know I haven't been able to sneak into my sewing corner. All my house chores and my
" nursing" a not that sick but very demanding 17 year old son has kept me away from my quilts. Nevertheless I still get some time at night so if I can't sew I can certainly stitch.
I began to blanket stitch around my felt leaves on the " Short and Sweet " runner I made from a Kim Diehl's pattern.

Sisterwood of Quilter's blessing

I haven't been able to sew this past week. My son had surgery last Thursday and I have been very busy taking care of him. The surgery went fine and he is getting well. No pain, just a little sore. Nevertheless during my waiting in the hospital I found this quilter's blessing somewhere in the net. I think it's just wonderful
