It's been quite a while since a last worked on my daughter's quilt. other works and swaps came in the middle and this one was in standby mode. However today I dedicated most of the afternoon to hand quilting a couple more squares. There are only six left to quilt...

My very first Friday Night Sew In
Thank God It's Friday. I'm joining FNSI for the first time. This one is hosted by the lovely Bobby from
Crafty Vegas Mom. I'm ready to spend a good time sewing along with 170 sewing and blogger friends. The task I've proposed myself to do is to finish the top of the Oh Lollipop quilt I've started last week.
First me and my daughter tried a couple of different ways to assemble all the blocks
Finally when we decided on the position of the blocks I used my bed as a design wall and began sewing all the blocks together
It didn't take me too long to have all the blocks sewn together.
Now on to the border... I had cut and sewn all the squares during the week so it was easy to add the first and the second border
And then the real work began. I had to cut and fuse 40 tiny circles to go on the light squares of the border
I managed to fused them all but it was getting late and I was very tired so I decided to stop and go to sleep.
As soon as possible I'll blanket stitch all over the 40 squares and the top will be complete, but this photo is a good sample of how the finished top will look like...

I'm so sorry for the poor quality of the photos but the lighting and my lack of experience didn't help much ( the quality of the photographer didn't help either) LOL!

The size will be approx 16 x10in (like a really big Mug Rug ) ..with either double batting or the use of "Insul-Bright" for bench protection and it must be fully bound for washing.
This swap does NOT include ANY tuck ins...so its quick and easy!

Today the mail man was most generous...I had not one but two packages.
The first one came from my friend Sylvia in Canada and were my February QBSA blocks. Yes it isn't a mistake, I got two beautiful " Frienship Stars". I love them, the fabrics are really nice I specially love the cream with the little flowers.
Thank you very much Sylvia
The second package came from Maria in Sweden and it were my two mug rugs from the Mug Rug Swap.
They are both lovely specially the one with the stitchery. The fabrics are gorgeous. She also sent me the cutest gardener's journal that I'll probably turn to a quilter's journal.
Thank you very much Maria.

OH LOLLIPOP
I've started a new project some time ago, it's called Oh Lollipop and the pattern is from Quilter's world magazine. It uses Moda fabric line Lollipop which colors are very bright and cheerful
After cutting all the pieces I sent e few hours chain piecing them. Chain piecing is a little boring but I have to admit it's fast and saves a lot of thread.
After a while all the blocks were ready and I think they are very pretty. I really like this line of fabric.
Now I have to blanket stitch every circle. I'm doing it using the machine blanket stitch. It's faster.
Next time I hope to have more to show you of this project.

Then I had to do the applique. I had to cut 36 circles, and stick them using Heat and Bond

Friday Night Sew In
Hoje inscrevi-me pela primeira vez no FNSI.
I've signed up for this month FNSI. It's my first time and I'm getting everything ready. I'll let you know how it went.

Choc-o-Cherry - FINISHED
I need a design wall...desperatelly
I really need a design wall but my so called sewing room is so tiny that I can't find a place to put one. Instead I'm using either my bed or the floor but my back is killing me. Can anyone help me. How can I fit a design wall into a very small room?
